Beginner Horse Day Camp
A horse intense beginner day camp for youth ages 8-14. This camp is for beginner and novice riders. The program runs from 8:00 a.m. til 4:00 p.m. which includes lunch and a snack. 

Campers will not only learn about horses, but will also learn how horses think and how horses can teach the camper. Having fun and being safe while leading, saddling and riding a horse are a top priority. 
The day will include devotions around the campfire, along with other fun activities outside the barn like a chuckwagon lunch, zip line, swimming and bonding with fellow campers on the challenge course. Riders must weigh 225# or less.

Camp Cost:

  • $325.00
  • $20 early bird discount available if registration is received by May 1
  • $15 multi-child discount available
  • $15 multi-camp discount available
Online registration for summer youth camps is preferred. A paper registration form is available if needed. An additional equine waiver is required for all horse camps.

Note: This is a day camp only.

4:00 p.m. Friday
3:00 p.m. Friday - Horse Show at the Castner Riding Arena 

Meals:
Lunch and snack are included in the cost.

Who can attend:
For youth ages 8-14. For beginner and novice horse riders. For the safety of the rider and consideration of our horses, campers must weigh less than 225 lbs.

  • Hands-on horse activities(catching, leading, demonstrations, etc)

Non-Horseman highlights:

  • Bible study
  • Daily Devotions

  • Zip Line
  • Challenge Course

The week will end with a horse show for the parents, a picture of the camper with one of the horses they rode at Ironwood, a T-shirt, and a certificate. We require that anyone registering at this camp weigh less than 225 lbs. For safety of the rider and consideration of our horses, this rule will be strictly enforced.

Note:
If you are outside the driving distance to Ironwood, rent a campsite and stay with your child. Regarding campsite pricing and call the office at 507-533-4315.
